A group of SWOS students recently had a wonderful opportunity to showcase their artwork at the Canyons of the Ancients Museum. Students were tasked to create a series of art pieces inspired by local archaeological sites. The pieces were collected into a show that ran from May 29 through June 12. Alongside creating their art pieces students learned about Ancestral Puebloan culture, the importance of cultural resource management and historical preservation from Bureau of Land Management staff. At SWOS we strive to engage our students in multi-dimensional and experiential learning and we are proud of examples like this.

The Journal featured coverage of the student art show which you can read <a href=”https://the-journal.com/articles/96715-swos-students-will-exhibit-archaeologyinspired-artwork” target=”_blank”>here</a>
