As stated in the letter sent home to each family, we highly value each student’s participation in the mandatory state assessment program. The state requires us to have a minimum of 95% participation in the testing. The testing does also aid SWOS in our efforts for continuous improvement. However, if you do choose to opt your student out of the testing, the due date for returning the opt out letter (mailed home to each family) is Friday, February 26. Without the request on the form provided we cannot opt students out of the testing. Students who do not test, for whatever reason, without the opt out letter negatively impact SWOS’ accreditation.
