Dr. Charlotte Wolf will start her new position as Director at Southwest Open Charter School in June. She is excited about collaborating with the Board of Directors and the staff and students, as well as reaching out to the community at large.
Her professional experience in education includes working as a high school teacher for almost 20 years as well as a school and district administrator, among other things as a Director of Innovation and Reform. Charlotte Wolf holds a principal license as well as teaching licenses in German, English as a Second Language, and English/Language Arts.
Besides a successful career in education, she has worked as a freelance translator and editor for over twenty-five years. Since 2010 she has published translations of a collection of early to modern German crime stories, a selection of Bavarian folktales, a short story anthology, and a couple of German-English travel guides.
Charlotte Wolf was born and raised in Germany, and has lived in the United States for twenty years. Her academic degrees include a Doctor of Philosophy in Interdisciplinary Studies (Literature, Women’s Studies, Instructional Technology) and a Master of Arts in German.
In her free time she likes writing poetry and reading fiction. She also likes to practice yoga and meditation, watch movies (foreign, film noir, sci-fi), cook, and hike in the fabulous Rocky Mountains.
